Fall Book Fair - Volunteers Needed
The Drew Fall Book Fair will be October 12-17. This event is all about encouraging our children to develop a love of reading, while raising funds for our school community. This year the book fair will be open during the PTA's Ice Cream Social on Friday October 14.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!! To run this even, we need volunteers to be Greeters (help answer questions) and Cashiers. To volunteer, contact Jean Jarman at jeanledley@yahoo.com

Fall Fundraiser
Please support our Fall Fundraiser this year -- Great American Opportunities. Help us reach our goal. Great American offers a wide selection of gifts, jewelry, magazines, and cookie dough. The PTA earns 50% on every gift item, 45% on jewelry and 40% on magazines on cookie dough. Our goal is $8,000.
The fundraiser runs September 19 through October 7. Packets have already gone home. Money and order forms are due on October 7. We hope every family can participate!

Did you know that your PTA membership dues pay for school folders? International Night? The end-of-year picnic? Cultural arts activities? The school directory? Your dues are extremely important to the children of Drew.

Join us at Back to School Night - Childcare Provided
Tuesday, September 6 is Back to School Night for Drew Elementary. The evening starts at 7 p.m. in the all purpose room with a short meeting, after which you will visit classrooms until 8:30. You'll have a chance to hear all about your child's curriculum and classroom, to join the PTA and to sign up to help out with all kinds of exciting projects.
Academy is offering FREE child care during Drew Back to School Night, 6:50-8:40pm. (A CASH ONLY late fee of $1 per minute will apply after 8:40pm.) Child care will be provided for ages 4-12 years only. Children must be potty-trained & not require one-on-one supervision. Only 3 children per household, please. Parent/Guardian valid ID is required for drop-off & pick up. Parents can call 301-989-0245 for further information.
Don't forget to visit the PTA table and join the Drew PTA this year! See you on Tuesday.

If you are interested in joining the Drew Elementary PTA Yahoo! Group and Listserv, please send your email address to Wendy Levine at wendywlevine@hotmail.com. An invitation will subsequently be emailed to you and you will have the choice of joining the full Yahoo! Group or only the email listserv. The PTA uses this Group and Listserv to publish many different announcements that are also published in the Dolphin Sound and the Principal's Newsletter.

Remember that if you have a business or a product that you want to buy, sell, trade or if you have a service that you want to share with the Drew Community, you are welcome to post your information on the Drew Classifieds. Check there frequently in case there is a service you might be able to take advantage of.
